Suspended Tee

6 shows and 6 sellouts later, we are proud to say we not only achieved those goals but we have exceeded them.

Anytime you start something new, there is a huge learning curve and we are not an exception to that rule. The rulebook from the Georgia Athletic Commission is 90+ pages long. We have worked with Executive Director Matt Woodruff through every show, sought his guidance and immediately fixed anything he brought to our attention. He has went above and beyond in his job of assisting us.

Unfortunately, anytime you see success that is not going to sit well with others in the industry. We have fought since our first show with "anonymous" individuals reporting every small thing we did wrong as we were learning and pushing for the stiffest of penalties. We kept our mouth shut, understood it was part of business and continued to put out great fight nights.

A couple of months ago, we were notified of a clerical error we made. We had the issue fixed within 24 hours. The Board of Commissioners brought us into to explain what happened and determine what consequences should be handed out as a result. Every commissioner there seemed to indicate a fine was in order except for Commissioner Clay Bennett. He made it clear he wanted an example made of us and would not back down from a suspension. After much discussion, the Board voted in agreement with him and a 4 month suspension was issued.

This suspension would have not only cost us our June show but would have given us no time to match and promote our August show. We came back with an offer that would still make us miss our June show but allowed us enough time to put on our August show. The board declined our offer.

Since that time, we have been made aware that Commissioner Bennett now wants us disciplined for other rule violations that we fixed the minute they were brought to our attention.

At the end of the day all we can do is go through the proper channels to appeal the vote and that is what we are doing.

Georgia is monopoly when it comes to Fight Leagues and that does nothing but hurt the fighters and the fans.
